Liner (Core) Sampler Set for Hard Soils

Core samplers, used with or without plastic liners, are for taking undisturbed samples. The coring apparatus can be used for surface sampling or with Edelman augers for deep sampling to 21.3 ft. (7m).

When taking samples for control studies, a liner should be placed inside the sample tube. This prevents soil from coming into contact with the tube, ensuring an uncontaminated sample. After the sampling tube is filled, the plastic liners are removed and placed inside a Plastic Liner Container for transport or storage.

Core samplers can be used for general profile studies without the plastic liners. Simply push the sampler into the ground and after tube is filled, remove the core with #290272 Sample Extruder. The Extruder forces the soil sample out of the tube without mixing layers. The "Down the Hole" sliding hammer is included with the set for hard soils to aid in driving the core sampler.
