NITESTAR is such an advanced distance measuring instrument, the uses are virtually unlimited. With a touch of a few buttons, measure distances on highways, guard rails, school bus routes, telephone pole spacing, gas pipelines, E-911 Addressing, TV Cable Length, even the length of field crops! Use NITESTAR for roadway inventories, traffic studies, cable line mapping, plant engineering, railway length, accident reconstruction or traffic monitoring.
NITESTAR can also be used to calculate volume amounts and costs for such materials as asphalt, concrete, gravel, and sand.
NITESTAR computes distances and areas using your vehicle’s speed and the distance travelled. Slim-line design has a back-lighted LCD panel with 3 brightness adjustments for low-light viewing. There are 4 display windows for 3-digit speed (mph, Kmh, F/S), status, 4-digit distance interval, and 6-digit distance (miles, feet, Km).
Power: 9 to 16V DC, negative ground 90 ma @ 12V DC (max). Accuracy to ±1' per mile. Resolution ±1'. Nonvolatile, unlimited internal memory storage, 0-99 Event codes. Auto calibration memory for up to four vehicles. Measures 2.25"W x 7.5"L x 0.88"D. Includes an operating manual. No. 103461 has a data output that allows you to connect it to your computer with the optional RS-232 Cable for communications in/out with selectable baud rate. Optional Data Printer is also available.
