EXTENDIBLE AUGER SYSTEMS
EXTENDIBLE AUGER SYSTEMS Close BAYONET STYLE The two-piece augers are available with either a bayonet-style connection or a conical screw connection. With the bayonet-style, the two parts to be joined (top and bottom of auger, or extension rods) are clamped into each other, then a coupling sleeve is pushed down to lock the connection. The bayonet-style provides a quick coupling without the use of tools, and there is no jamming of the connection even under adverse working conditions. Handles sold separately below. CONICAL SCREW The conical screw connection has a slightly larger rod diameter, which allows for larger torsional movement. When using more extension rods, the conical screw thread connection will give a firmer, more stable connection. The conical screw design is better in harder soils, or when hammering or jarring is required. Handles sold separately below. |
