Fall Distance Indicator
Quickly Identifies Safe Fall DistancesWorks like a plumb bob attach to your anchorage point and lower the weight using the attached string. Helps you determine the minimum safe height for an anchorage point when using a standard 6'L lanyard.
18 1/2'L when fully extended. To Calculate Total Fall Distance: Add length of the shock-absorbing lanyard (6') to the maximum elongation of the lanyard during deceleration (3 1/2') to the average height of a worker (6'), then add a 3-ft. safety factor for a total of 18 1/2'. Note: String must be free of knots, loops or kinks. If weight strikes a lower level, select a higher anchorage point. If none are accessible, use a shorter lanyard or self-retracting lifeline.
