Foresters and Surveyors Compasses
 
Aluminum casing with folding sights. Professional compasses are graduated in quadrants, 0°–90°–0° in 1° increments. Declination can be adjusted East or West to 40° in 1° increments. Free-swinging, 3" needle has a jeweled center to hold stop position. Sighting marks are at each quadrant and they also have a knurled edge for revolving azimuth. Offset sights are notched every 90°. The pendulum clinometer is graduated to measure angles to 90° in each direction. Include ball and socket joint and thimble for mounting on Jacob staff. Circular spirit level for easy leveling of instrument. Both models come with leather case and shoulder strap. Forester/Geologist’s Compass--4-1/2" square base graduated 0°–90° for use as a protractor and is divided into inches to eighths and inches to tenths. Raised compass ring graduated to 360° in 1° increments with adjustment for setting declination. Surveyor’s Model--Similar to Forester/Geologist’s Compass, but without square base and revolving ring on compass box. Jacob Staff--4'4"L, aluminum pole with metal shoes and tapered head to fit thimble in ball/socket head.
