Hardened steel hammer with plastic grip takes a 3/4" long sample from hard or soft wood. Features a 2" scale graduated in 20ths. Takes a 0.157" diameter core sample in seconds. To use, simply hit the tree at a right angle and pull out. Steel plunger allows you to eject an undisturbed core for examination. Overall length 11-1/2".
