Spiral Auger, Conical Screw, 1-1/2" Dia.

The Auger body is a steel strip spiraled to 9.8". The Spiral Auger, seldom used for profile research (soil mapping), is usually used to penetrate very hard layers. It takes a good deal of force to pull this Auger out of hard and/or cohesive soils. The use of the optional Push/Pull Handle (sold separately) can help make extraction easier. Approximately 24"L, 1-1/2"-dia. Two-part Conical Screw style.
