These efficient Seedling Protector Tubes are successful for long term protection of newly planted tree seedlings. Protective netting physically prevents animals from reaching the growing plants. Exposure to UV light causes the tubes to photodegrade and disintegrate in 2 to 4 yr. Seedling Protector Tubes can be supported with biodegradable bamboo stakes, sold separately.

Comments about Seedling Protector Tubes, 3-1/4" x 24", Pkg. of 250:
The only thing I wish was sent with the sleeves would be a stiff plastic sheet that you could wrap the seedlings, then slide the sleeves over to contain all the little branches. Otherwise so far a great product

Ineffective against rodents
Comments about Seedling Protector Tubes, 3-1/4" x 30", Pkg. of 250:
The description states that these tubes are effective protection against animals. Last I checked, ground squirrels are animals, and these provide no protection whatsoever against them. They were eaten through in less than a day. Threw away the chewed ones and sent the rest back.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
tubes really work!

Every tree I planted last year survived, IF they had these protectors on them. Several without the protectors were chewed up or dead brown. I just bought 2 more boxes, to cover the trees I'll be planting this winter. I love the deer, but don't want them to feast on my baby trees. by the way, I just use a handy twig to brace the protector, poking it through a hole and into the ground, and that worked well to keep the protector in place.
Not as good as the solid tubes

Comments about Seedling Protector Tubes, 4" x 42", Pkg. of 250:
open mesh make it hard to slide down over the tree branch's, had to use tape to hold the small bracch's in so they wouldn't get caught in the mesh. The branch's grow out through the mesh so you have to cut the mesh and tuck the branch's back in. Solid tube are more expensive but less work.
