Features

The Optic StowAway

The Optic StowAway data loggers use optical communication and can be completely submerged in wet or dirty locations.

The loggers can be launched and read out directly to a host computer or can be read out and restarted in the field using the waterproof Optic Shuttle. Purchase of the StowAway Starter Kit is necessary for launch of the data logger.

The Windows for PC version of the Optic Stowaway Starter Kit includes BoxCar Pro software, Base Station, Optic Coupler, TidbiT Coupler and an interface cable manual.

To test the temperature accuracy of your Optic StowAway submerge the logger in a stirred mixture of crushed ice and water. Use an insulated container and place mixture in a refrigerator to minimize temperature gradients. The logger should completely equilibrate within about three minutes. It will reach about 90% of the step change within 2 minutes.

BoxCar Software

Both the Optic StowAway and the StowAway TidBit require the BoxCar Software for launch, readout and plotting. The data are exportable to spreadsheet programs such as Lotus or Excel etc. Software is included with the StowAway Starter Kit.

The Optic Shuttle

• Read out and restart the Optic StowAwayand TidBit by inserting the logger into the Optic Shuttle. 
• Waterproof. Allows for readout and restart underwater. 
• Stores data from up to 16 full 8K or 4 full 32K loggers. 
• Factory replaceable battery lasts up to ten years. 
• Automatic built-in battery check. 
• 90 second data transfer time from 8K logger, six minutes from a 32K logger. 
• Connects to host's serial port through Optic Base Station and Coupler.

The shuttle is an optional method of retrieving data from the field.

TidBit Waterproof Logger

• Waterproof to 1000 feet (500 PSI). 
• Five year non-replaceable battery. 
• Requires StowAway TidBit base station for launch and off-loading. Included withStowAway Starter Kit. 
• 32K memory. 
• Delayed Launch (up to three months). 
• Multiple Sampling with minimum, maximum or averaging. 
• Deployments from 15 minutes to 360 days.
