This is the ideal distance measuring instrument for one handed, all weather use. Maximum distances for non-reflective targets are 500 yards (model 500), 800 yards (model 800) and 1000 yards (model 1000), but this may be more or less depending on light conditions and target. All models have a minimum operating range of 18 yards and accuracy of +/- 1 yard.

Measuring with an invisible class 1 eyesafe laser, using the Yardage Pro is as easy centering the target in the viewfinder and pressing a button. Advanced electronic circuitry instantly calculates distance based on the time it takes for the laser pulse to return to the instrument. Distance in yards or meters is shown on the viewfinder's Liquid Crystal Display in large, easy to read numbers. Also shown are target quality, operating mode, and low battery indicator.

Even very small targets can be measured if the unit is held steady. Many factors determine how far a target can be ranged, but generally the more reflective and brighter colored the object is, the farther it can be ranged. The use of reflective tape or a surveying prism can be used on or near the target in some situations to range at greater distances. Tree trunks, poles, and even animals can be ranged successfully with the Yardage Pro.
