Nothing to Sneeze at. . .

It doesn’t matter how good you are – there’s always room for improvement. That’s why, to serve you better, the Ben Meadows Team is in a constant state of transformation. We’re always testing products and tweaking services. In fact, we even rearrange the furniture on a regular basis in an effort to optimize our performance. During one of our last attempts to achieve the right feng shui throughout our office we found something special. We uncovered a hidden cache of Bendanas.

Submit your own suggestions and maybe win a prize! We never actually called them, Bendanas. Several years ago we introduced them to you as Ben Meadows Bandanas and we came up with all sorts of uses for them. From diapers to origami sculpture we let you know these squares of cloth were for much more than just cooling your brow or blowing your nose. Then, as suddenly as it appeared, the Bendana (as it came to be known) was gone. No one really has a an explanation, but the moment they became scarce everyone suddenly needed a Bendana.

The Bendana quickly became the stuff of legend. Some believed these rare rags had healing powers or they could block signals from alien motherships. Others claimed that a secret, microscopic Aldo Leopold manuscript was woven into the fibers of each cloth. And those who held on to their Bendanas were offered thousands of dollars or propositions involving timeshare properties and livestock to give them up.

Now, at the height of Bendanamania, we have found 25 new, blue hankies. Many historians have pleaded with us to ship them off to the Smithsonian. Instead we’re giving you the opportunity to win all 25 of them for yourself!

We're giving away all 25 Bendanas to a single winner. All you have to do to toss your name in the ring is send an email to: editor@benmeadows.com that says, “I want 25 Bendanas!” Submit your entries before Dec. 16, 2009. The same rules as The Natural Resource Editor’s Challenge apply. Become a part of what can only be characterized as the most significant discovery of the 21st century. Potentially change your life forever and enter to win today!

Battery Basics

Sometimes we take some of our most often-used tools and processes for granted. It's when we take a closer look we discover better ways to put these common tools to work for us. With that in mind our Product Pros created TechInfo Document 338, “What is a Battery?”.

Today we have so many options when it comes to powering some of our field equipment. It can be helpful to have some direction regarding what actually works best and what power source is the most convenient to use.

This document breaks batteries down to the fundamentals. You'll read about the definition of a battery; how they work and the differences between the many types of batteries. It also covers the advantages and disadvantages of different types and what might suit your particular needs. You'll find this article here.
