WEFTEC 2009!
Hello again, and thanks for opening this edition of the Water Main!
At WEFTEC last month, a lof of water pros stopped by our booth to look at one unique item in particular.
Gary, one of our Product Managers took a sheet of paper, jotted down a note, and stuck it in a beaker of water. The fact that this paper didn't smear, tear or dissolve after 8 hours in the booth was a pretty good trick. It technically wasn’t sleight of hand, but rather it was a sheet of our Rite in the Rain All Weather Paper.
While water-resistant paper isn’t quite as glamorous as a hot new sterilization technology, it sure can save a day’s work (or a person’s hide) if your notebook is in the wrong place when a pipe releases steam or a wind comes up and blows your data into a water runway.

So What is Rite in the Rain?
As mentioned above, Rite in the Rain All Weather Paper isn’t a trick. It is a specially formulated patented substrate designed to repel water for writing in harsh outdoor conditions. This patented substrate allows it to get wet and stay wet without turning into soggy mush.
The paper itself is virgin wood fiber purchased from FSC Certified sources (to ensure a high degree of environmental and social standards and practices). All notebook covers and reference cards are made from post-consumer recycled resins. All Rite in the Rain paper is 100% recyclable.
Typically it is best to use pencil or an All Weather pen when writing on Rite in the Rain paper. Standard ball point ink will work, though as with any paper, it could lead to smudging if submersed for extended periods.
