Psychrometers and Sling Psychrometers
Measure Water Vapor in the Air
Get accurate humidity readings using psychrometers to measure the amount of water vapor in the air. Digital psychrometers provide wet-bulb temperature—the drier the air, the more the internal thermometer cools leading to a lower wet-bulb temperature. Sling psychrometers require you to dip the wick in distilled water then whirl the psychrometer around. As the instrument is whirled, water evaporates from the wick on the wet-bulb thermometer and cools to the lowest value possible in a few minutes. Measure humidity with instruments from Ben Meadows.
