    Comments about LogRite® 30" Hookaroon:

I purchased this item to prevent repetitive bending to pick up rounds of wood to load them into the log splitter. It was the perfect tool to solve that problem. I've picked up rounds ranging from just a few inches diameter up to about 12" in diameter and up to about 16" long with absolutely no problem. I feel that it would be able to pick up slightly larger pieces without issue. It will not take the place of a cant hook (nor is it designed to) but I have found it useful in the general handling of longer logs up to about 12" diameter and about 8' long (rolling them over, lift one end, etc.). The hook really sets itself well into the ends of rounds making it simple to lift up and onto the log splitter. I was actually impressed with how well the hook sets itself into the rounds without much swinging force and it really hangs on to the wood. Be careful though because this hook is sharp and could easily skewer a leg or foot. The quality, balance and overall usefulness of this pickaroon is excellent. I am about 5'10" and find that the 30" model is perfect for me and for my purposes I wouldn't need it to be any longer nor want it any shorter. I fully suspect this tool will still be going strong long after I'm gone or too old to use it...
