Eijkelkamp Edelman Extendible Coarse Soil Augers

Four Augers Available to Accommodate Course Soils

Widely used for the study of soil composition, profile and soil mapping. A screw-like point at the lower end of the Auger body enters into the soil as you simultaneously push and turn the Auger clockwise. The soil sample is guided into the Auger body by the two vaulted vertical cutting blades. The vaulted design not only promotes soil digging, but also ensures a firm hold of the sample in the Auger. The blades are welded to a bow bracket, which is connected to the Auger rod. Choose your Auger based on the type of soil you are sampling. The less cohesive the soil, the wider the blades necessary to hold the sample in place. Very cohesive soils, like clay, will stay in an Auger with narrow blades. All Augers are approximately 24"L. Handles and extensions sold separately.
