The timber events demonstrated the strength, speed
and accuracy these athletes must possess to succeed
at this level of competition.
This man is chopping a 12" block of wood
in less than 44 seconds. What makes this an even
more amazing accomplishment is the fact he's standing
9 feet off the ground on a narrow piece of wood
while he swings his ax.
Just as any Ben Meadows customer can tell you,
these competitors rely on quality equipment to provide
them with the winning edge.
These men and women make 20" thick logs look
like they're made of butter.
Sometimes it's difficult to get a sense of just
how high speed climbers are in the air after dashing
up a pole. This photo might help.
Climbing a 65 foot pole in ten seconds is tough.
Flying down that same pole, only touching it every
20 feet or so to slow yourself down is crazy.
The games couldn't take place if it weren't for
the efforts of hundreds of volunteers. Many Ben
Meadows team members worked very hard to help make
this year's event one of the best ever.
