More than forty years ago, a young forester named Ben Meadows became increasingly frustrated with the difficulties forestry professionals encountered in obtaining field equipment. It was often necessary to go to a variety of sources to find what he needed.

Ben solved the problem by founding a company to supply foresters and engineers with the finest equipment available. His good name was all that he had back in 1956, so he named the business after himself.

Ben Meadows Company still offers the finest gear available with an expanded line for natural resource professionals. Ben's slogan, "You can depend on Ben," is as true today for the Ben Meadows Company as it was when he struck this pose for an early advertisement for his company.

In 2001, the Ben Meadows Company was purchased by Lab Safety Supply Inc., a national safety and industrial goods supplier based in Janesville, Wisconsin known for outstanding customer service.
