Ben Meadows Company Celebrates Arbor Day 2005!

Gary, one of our Technical Product Managers, took part in this year's Arbor Day Celebration sponsored by the Wisconsin Woodland Owners Association.

Wisconsin Woodland Owners Association members are keeping a close eye on Gary (seated) as he plants white pine and spruce seedlings.

The tree planter Gary is riding is the property of the Dane County Wisconsin Forester's Office. The Forester's Office makes this planter available free of charge for property owners planting or adding to existing woodlands. On this day, Gary planted approximately 600 seedlings.

Gary is surrounded by a group of fourth graders from Cambridge, Wisconsin while a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources representative explains the importance of replenishing our forests.

The kids were able to watch the tree planter operate. Next, they were given the chance to use a tree planting bar and plant a seedling of their own. At the end of the day, each student was given a tree to take home with them and plant for Arbor Day.
