With two 12"L extension rods, the 12"L auger cuts 36" into the ground. Oakfield Model C Auger-Type Soil Sampler Kit also contains a 12"L handle and a 13"L heavy fiberboard case for carrying and storing. Augers have a 1-1/4" dia. and a double twist with a 2-1/2" pitch. Auger section is 8-1/2"L with a 4"L shank.
