Auger Systems Make Sample Breakdown and Transport Easier

Two-piece Auger Systems are available with either a bayonet-style connection or a conical screw connection.

With the Bayonet-Style Connection, the two parts to be joined (top and bottom of auger, or extension rods) are clamped into each other, then a coupling sleeve is pushed down to lock the connection. The bayonet-style provides a quick coupling without the use of tools, and there is no jamming of the connection even under adverse working conditions. Handles sold separately.

The Conical Screw Connection has a slightly larger rod diameter, which allows for larger torsional movement. When using more extension rods, the conical screw thread connection will give a firmer, more stable connection. The conical screw design is better in harder soils, or when hammering or jarring is required. Handles sold separately.
